Learn to Surfski - Group paddling

The Varsity College Surfskischool offers surfski paddling with a group every Saturday morning. We cater for all levels of paddler from beginner to advanced. Our lessons and training on Fish Hoek beach in Cape Town and Ushaka Beach in Durban.
   
The Sea Dog Paddle Series

Registration: 5pm-5;45pm Fish Hoek Surf Lifesaving Club Cost: R150 for all 10 races, or R20 per race The first 40 to register get a short sleeve Seadog rashvest! Race starts at 6pm, Prize giving is at 7pm! Course is "safe" and in the bay and about 6 - 7 km. So Great for ANY level of paddler! ALL welcome! Invite your paddling friends! All prizes are lucky draw, you have to FINISH to be in the prizes! and dont forget... THE RACE IS NEVER CANCELLED!
   
Downwind with Dawid

Experience the BEST downwind in the World, the Millers Run. Dawid will be doing a “millers run experience”. The cost is R375, and you get a double, a lesson and a life time of experience in a surfski. Book on 021 782 4311. We have 3 slots a day 11am – 1pm – 3pm. All you do is Phone – Book - Paddle. Driver, ski (if necessary), lesson, and world class company! Obviously Wind is necessary.

Discovery Sunglass Hut Surfski Series

The Surfski series has a number of long and short course events held on weekends. Registration is held at various Venues: Strand SLC: 11 Oct 11 OCEANA: 13 Oct 11 Fish Hoek Surf Lifesaving Club: 14 Oct 11 For the Series you need to be CSA registered.
   
KAYAK trips Simons Town

Bookings done through us at The Paddling Centre. Trips done daily from Simons Town Jetty, meet 9:15am, leave 9:30am. Must book 48 hours in advance. Cost R250 for a 2 hour trip.
   
Kayak Rentals

The Paddling Centre rents out 2 red sevens and 2 cumanches. book now. R200 a day or R50 an hour.

Cape Town Downwind Series

"No wind, no paddle!"Six downwind races in and around Cape Town in Jan/Feb 2012. Be there! Description The aim is DOWNWIND paddling. NO WIND = NO PADDLE There are six races planned starting mid January 2011. There will be two events in each area namely Strand/ Table Bay/Fishoek and or Hout Bay. Any prizes that are available will be LUCKY DRAW only! ... Racing snakes get their name in lights but take home no bounty. All participants must be registered with Canoe SA to take part. NO PFD+FLARE+CELL+LEASH=NO PADDLE is not negotiable
   
Inter-schools Surfski Series

Free to any school student: Date and time: Fridays 4pm starting 3 Feb for 6 weeks Venue: Fish Hoek Beach Free lesson, instructor, ski, PFD, paddle WP Interschools Surfski race, is Fri 9 March, Starts 5pm sharp! Course is 6km in Fish Hoek bay Top students will be selected to represent their school and province in Durban on 30 March. (they do not have to attend Friday classes if they can already paddle, can just come to the trial if they want to race)
